West Cornwall MP, Andrew George, is holding a casework surgery in St Just on Saturday 16th November 2013 as part of his efforts to increase the number of surgeries across the constituency in order to meet the growing demand.

Mr George, who already regularly holds surgeries in Penzance, St Ives and Helston, will be available to see constituents at the Methodist Chapel Room in Chapel Road, St Just, from 10.15am.

Mr George said, “Demand for appointments at casework surgeries is increasing and I wanted to offer more opportunities as far as I can.”

An additional surgery will be held in Porthleven in the Public Hall, Wellington Road, on 30th November.

Andrew George MP will attend a Neighbourhood Plan consultation event in St Ives on Saturday 16th November 2013.

The event is being held at the Guildhall and Mr George will be in attendance from 6.30pm.

Neighbourhood Plans provide communities with an opportunity to set out their views on the development and use of land.

Mr George said: “It is really important that our local communities grab the opportunity to shape the future of their towns and villages. I was pleased to visit St Ives Town Council in the summer of last year to outline to them the powers which allow them to draw up a template plan for the future and which would help to shape the way the whole community (like St Ives, Carbis Bay and Lelant) would like to develop in the years ahead.

“I look forward to the opportunity of meeting with some of those involved in this excellent and very welcome work and to offer my support for a plan which I am sure will be built on the hopes and aspirations of the community rather than speculative opportunism.

“I hope that the local community will continue to get behind the Neighbourhood Plan.”
